This Is My Story
Hey everyone. My name is Ginger. As a child, my family didn't travel often. Because of my dad's demanding work schedule, if we took a summer vacation it was either to the mountains or the beach. Both were about a 5 hour drive away. When I was in college I took my first cruise and my first airplane ride. Shortly after, I took an epic road trip up the east coast and I was hooked on traveling and exploring. Fast forward several years....when our daughter, Avery, was 7 years old, we decided that one of our family goals included taking her to all 50 states before she graduated high school. Our daughter is currently 17 and has just visited her 43rd state. Because of COVID, we lost some time and have now extended our finish line to when Avery finishes college.
When we started those yearly family road trips we wanted a way to share our experiences with our family and friends. That was how "trip trivia" was born. Each day of our trip we would use Facebook to give a few questions related to our travels. The winner of each daily contest would win a small prize. With each trip and trivia contest we would have so many people encourage us to blog about our adventures. We finally started to take their advice and that is how "The Travel Gritty" began.
Throughout our travels we have been to breathtaking sights, made unforgettable moments, and have had endless laughter.
