Ahhhhh, Newport!!
Saturday, March 1st
This charming seaside city is where history, luxury, and coastal beauty come together in perfect harmony. From its storied mansions (The Breaker's, The Elm's, The Marble House to name a few) and cobblestone streets to the bustling harbor and breathtaking ocean views, Newport never fails to impress.
Our travels have brought us to and through Newport on several occasions (this is our 5th time to be exact), and each visit unveils something new to love. This time, Newport is more than just a stop along the way—it’s the host city for a conference I’m attending (NAHPL National Summit), giving me the perfect excuse to explore even more of its charm.
For the next five days, our home away from home is the Newport Marriott, a waterfront gem that offers the perfect mix of comfort, convenience, and classic New England charm. It is really lovely inside and the views are stunning. Just outside the hustle and bustle of the heart of Newport, it's a great location, both professionally and personally.

After a long day of travel, we arrived to Newport around 5pm. We quickly got checked into our room and then made our way to our dinner destination, Wally's Wieners. It was about .8 miles away so we decided to make the short walk, to and fro. Even though the wind was brutal, it was nice seeing so many people out walking and making their way around the city.
The small restaurant was packed. We found a table and were quickly welcomed with water and a menu. The drink menu was expansive and looked fun. However, we decided to just focus on the food and settled on a Chicago Dog, the Wynter Burger, and an order of Garlic Parm Fries. The food was solid.....and a great way to get this trip started.

Tomorrow brings more exploration, learning, and, of course, a little more into the Newport food scene. Until then, it’s time to rest up and get ready for another incredible day ahead!
